About this chord
The dominant seventh chord creates strong tension that calls for resolution. Its internal tritone (between the major third and minor seventh) gives it its characteristic directional energy. Essential in blues and jazz, it is also used on all three main blues degrees (I7, IV7, V7) for permanent tension.
Open E7, A7, D7, G7 shapes available + movable barre E7 and A7.
