About this scale
The bebop major scale adds a chromatic augmented 5th (#5) between the 5th and 6th of the major scale. This 8th passing note allows fluid bebop lines on strong beats. A fundamental scale in the bebop language invented by Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie.
