About this scale
The bebop major scale adds a chromatic augmented 5th between the 5th and 6th. On guitar, this 8th passing note allows fluid bebop lines with melodic notes on the strong beats. Charlie Christian and Wes Montgomery laid the foundations of this language that remains essential in jazz guitar.
