About this scale
The major pentatonic is the bright, country version of the pentatonic. Mark Knopfler, Keith Richards, and country guitarists use it constantly for singable, melodic lines. It fits naturally over I–IV–V major progressions and allows very expressive bends and hammer-ons. The switch between minor and major pentatonic is one of the key techniques of blues-rock guitar.
