About this scale
The Saba maqam with its distinctive b4 is one of the most expressive maqams in Mediterranean guitar. Its deep melancholy is expressed through characteristic ornaments (glissandos, trills). Very difficult to integrate into a Western tonal context, it is a color in its own right in world-fusion.
