About this scale

The major 7 pentatonic replaces the usual minor 7th with a major 7th, giving a soft, elegant jazz color on guitar. It sounds great over Maj7 and CMaj9 chords. Jazz guitarists (Pat Metheny, Lenny Breau) use it for fluid, refined phrases over major seventh chords.
