About this scale

The Dorian mode is THE scale of blues-rock and funk guitar. Its major 6th gives it a luminous opening in a minor context. Carlos Santana, David Gilmour, and John Mayer use it constantly. It fits perfectly over typical i–IV blues modal progressions and naturally overlaps with the minor pentatonic positions.
