About this scale
The major blues scale blends the warmth of the major pentatonic with the ambiguity of the minor 3rd. It is the sound of original rock'n'roll — Chuck Berry, Elvis, Carl Perkins. Works perfectly over I7–IV7–V7 blues progressions. Country guitarists also use it to add a 'gritty' feel to double-stop lines.
