About this scale

The whole-tone scale is entirely symmetric — only two versions for all 12 keys. On guitar, its positions are very regular and easy to visualize. Trey Anastasio (Phish) and Frank Zappa exploit it for floating, dreamy effects. It works over augmented chords and #5 dominants.
